Travelling and passagemaking on a luxury catamaran

About 70 Sunreef Power

Launched in 2008, the 70 Sunreef Power is a rare example of a luxury medium-sized power yacht (60-90 feet) with extremely high fuel efficiency, a trans-Pacific range and top speeds reaching 20+ knots. This exceptional yacht was conceived by the Sunreef design office with advice from Laurent Bourgnon, a famous sailor with a wealth of experience in catamaran regattas. All other semi-custom yachts from the Sunreef Power line have maintained the same hydrodynamic and performance-oriented line of the 70-footer.

With its totally customized design and finish according to the owner’s wishes, this yacht can be be customized with a Jacuzzi and second navigation station, powerful engines, rich and modern interior design, state-of-the-art electronics on board and much more state-of-the-art equipment. For owners wanting to perform long journeys aboard their yachts and discover the world’s most remote and wild places, the Sunreef Power can be converted into an expedition yacht with underwater bulbs, green features such as solar panels, wind and hydro generators and complete LED lighting, without losing anything of its luxurious and customized finish.

Today, Sunreef power catamarans are cruising with their owners and families in French Polynesia, Chile and  the Mediterranean. The first unit, JAMBO, traveled from Poland to Bora Bora through Northern Africa, South America and Pacific which means more than 18 000 nautical miles with fuel consumption reduced at times to 1,77L per hour per engine (2 x 455HP) at 8 knots!

The recently launched DAMRAK II cruised in Scandinavia before heading to the Mediterranean for the summer. With an average cruising speed of 11 knots, DAMRAK II consumed only 20L per hour per engine (2 x 870HP) with autonomy equaling 4000nm. Reducing the speed to 8 knots means an autonomy of up to 10 000 nautical miles on one fuel tank (2 x 8000L).
